Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 10, 2026
1. Introduction
Disc Sync ("we," "our," or "us") provides a Shopify application that synchronizes product listings and orders between Shopify and Discogs. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
By installing or using Disc Sync, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Store Information
When you install Disc Sync, we receive and store basic information about your Shopify store, including:
- Your Shopify store domain
- Store name and contact information
- Shopify access tokens required for API communication
2.2 Discogs Account Information
To enable syncing, you connect your Discogs account via OAuth 1.0a. We store:
- Your Discogs OAuth access token and secret (securely stored)
- Your Discogs username and connection status
2.3 Product and Listing Data
We retrieve and store data about your Discogs listings to enable the import and sync features, including:
- Product details (title, artist, label, description, condition)
- Pricing and shipping information
- Product images (URLs only)
- Inventory quantities and catalog numbers
- Listing status (for sale, sold, removed)
2.4 Order and Activity Data
We process order information from both Shopify and Discogs to keep inventory in sync. We also maintain an activity log of sync events, imports, and connection changes with timestamps.
2.5 Billing Information
Subscription and billing are managed entirely through Shopify. We store your plan name and billing cycle dates but do not process or store payment card information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Import your Discogs listings into your Shopify store
- Synchronize inventory and orders between Shopify and Discogs
- Automatically remove Discogs listings when items sell on Shopify (and vice versa) to prevent double-selling
- Display your sync activity, credit usage, and connection status within the app
- Manage your subscription and credit allocation
- Troubleshoot issues and provide customer support
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with:
- Shopify — through their Admin API to create and manage products, inventory, and orders in your store
- Discogs — through their API to read your listings and orders, and to remove listings when items are sold
These integrations are essential to the core functionality of Disc Sync and only transmit data necessary for syncing operations.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- Discogs OAuth tokens are securely stored and never exposed to the client
- No passwords are stored — authentication is handled entirely through OAuth 1.0a
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS encrypted connections
- Database access is restricted and secured
- We follow security best practices for application development and deployment
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only as long as Disc Sync is installed on your Shopify store. When you uninstall Disc Sync:
- All your data — including your store information, Discogs credentials, synced listings, and activity logs — is permanently deleted within 48 hours
- Products already imported to your Shopify store remain in your store (they are your products)
- Discogs listings are not affected by uninstallation
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your store
- Disconnect your Discogs account at any time from the Settings page, which removes your stored Discogs credentials
- Delete all your data by uninstalling Disc Sync from your Shopify store
- Request a copy of your stored data by contacting us
8. Cookies and Tracking
Disc Sync does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Session cookies required by Shopify for authentication are managed by the Shopify platform. We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking tools within the app.
9. Children's Privacy
Disc Sync is a business tool intended for use by Shopify store owners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of Disc Sync after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
